We are officially halfway through the wedding planning! Because we are halfway, we need to make sure that we are concentrating on a few specific tasks! Let's get started...
Order the decor for your wedding if needed. You need to think about other wedding decor. There are rental companies that you can order specific decor from and if you have a wedding planner, he or she knows the best people to call. This can be beneficial when it comes to lounge areas, tables, chairs, and linens. However, if there are some personalized pieces that you want to get for your wedding or reception, now is the time to do that. Personalized pieces may take longer to get, and you want to make sure there is plenty of time to have them redone if you need to do that.
Dress Fitting. You should be coming up on your dress fitting for alterations. If you didn't need alterations, that's amazing. Make sure to get a final fitting or try your dress on to make sure nothing has changed. Weight loss and weight gain are both common during wedding planning. If this is the first fitting, make sure that you have a date of when you will receive your dress so you can let your photographer know as soon as possible.
Order Tuxes or Suits. Make sure to get the groom involved in this! Ordering the tuxes or suits now can ensure they are here in time. I will be doing a blog post on how to make the groom stand out on your wedding day! So, check out that post!
Follow Up with Florist, Caterer, and Cake Designer. At this point all three of these vendors should be hired. Follow up with each one of these vendors and set up meetings if you need to do that. Tastings are crucial when it comes to your caterer and cake designer.
Set your guest list and start collecting addresses. Collecting the addresses for your guests can be a tedious process, and, in my opinion the least fun! LOL But, collecting these addresses is crucial to the wedding. If you hired a calligrapher to do the addresses on the invitations, make sure they are listed out neatly for him or her and easily accessible.
Create a registry for your Bridal Shower and Wedding. This is part of the fun when planning your wedding! Your guests will want to give you a gift. The sooner you get your registry done, the easier it will be for them. You can list out the registries on your couple's website that we talked about in the first couple of blog posts. Get with your significant other and start adding to your registry.
Start planning your honeymoon! The honeymoon is the reward for the year of wedding planning and the best way to start a new chapter with your spouse! Now is the time to start planning the honeymoon destination itinerary. If you aren't doing an itinerary, at least look at the area attractions, restaurants, etc to get an idea of the local destinations.
Get Passports if needed. The passport process can take a long time. The sooner you start the process the better. You don't want to plan an amazing honeymoon and not be able to go because of passport issues.
I hope I answered some of your questions and helped guide you during this wedding planning process. Don't miss our next blog post coming Wednesday! Happy Planning!
XOXO,
Lauren
